Wooden Playpen

The Wooden Playpen is starting to become popular and they are as a result are snapped up in a hurry lots of people enjoy their looks compared to normal fabric ones. Many rooms don’t look right with just a normal fabric playpen, or maybe you just want a different looking playpen in the playroom that stands out a bit. As with anything it is a good idea to check for safety, a few things to make sure are ok are the screws and or nails if any are poking out they will need sorting out. Also is the wood sanded to an appropriate level otherwise the baby may get a few splinters one another thing to check is the width of the bars if they are to wide a baby may be able to get in between.

When looking through all the different shops offering different things try not to get too carried away, before you leave check if there is space and if there is how much maybe even take a few measurements so that when you are looking around you know it will fit in perfectly. A spare room can be a good place or even at the end of your bed inside your room, it’s just important to check the space available it would be a real pain to get it home only for it not to fit.

The odd Wooden Playpen will come with offers of additional bedding, wheels or even sun covers. Before you pay out more for this kind of thing ask yourself do you really need it or will it just sit in the bottom of the cupboard like the countless other accessories you have brought but never used. Bedding for example instead of paying more for the most expensive bedding and mattress could you not make do with what you have already? There must be a few duvets and covers somewhere in the house that are no longer being used but would be perfect for your baby just to make the playpen more comfortable for naps after all a playpen doesn’t have to be used as a bed as well.

After all of this preparation just to make sure it is extra comfortable for your baby a few toys would be a good idea just so he or she has a bit of enrichment, just imagine how boring it would be just sitting there with nothing to do no one would enjoy it let alone a young baby full of energy. And remember to check on the pen regularly just to make sure all is well this can cut down dramatically on the chances of an injury, it is amazing how much trouble a youngster can get into even in a relatively safe environment. It makes it easier if you are in the same room as the playpen but sometimes this may not be possible so the next room should do just fine, the baby should be taken out of the playpen for regular breaks otherwise they may become board and irritable which no parent wants.
